It is hard to find the right words that capture what is happening at Tainaron Blue Retreat.because what Kostas and his team create there is nothing short of magic. The location is absolutely breathtaking, with sweeping views over the sea it is an unparalleled perspective that grabs visitors' attention. The hotel itself is severely elegant, with beautifully simple yet deeply comfortable and authentic decor, you feel like you've stepped onto the cover page of a "best travel destinations" magazine. And then there's the food...eating on-site at Tainaron is a MUST, do not let yourself be fooled by Kostas' genuine humility on this, the food at Tainaron was some of the best that we ate during our entire time in Greece. The dishes are crafted with a level of care, creativity, and culinary technique that make you re-define what "superb" actually means. The menu is broad, fun, authentic, and has a wine list to match. Plus, eating at sunset overlooking the sea is like having a private Michelin Star restaurant and the world's best view, all to yourself. Finally, this review would be incomplete if it did not mention the warm sincerity that Kostas and his team brings to their hospitality. Even from before our arrival, Kostas communicated clearly and helpfully about logistics and timing. During the stay, he and his people strike the perfect balance of helpfulness, attentiveness, and privacy. Kostas is so open-hearted and generous, he was such a helpful guide for our questions about the area, and was a wealth of knowledge about the history of the land they are on, he truly made our stay memorable. Even if the view wasn't breathtaking, even if the rooms weren't deeply comfortable, even if the food wasn't the best that we have ever had, just being with Kostas and his staff would make the stay at Tainaron Blue Retreat.well worth it.
